Welcome to all members of Woodlands Patients Group

Welcome from the new Woodlands’ Patient Group Chairman, Stewart Lilly.
“Every registered patient of the Woodlands’ Practice is entitled to belong to its Patient Group (PG). Our message is: “Patients and Practice, working in Partnership.” We exist to help improve services for patients.

The PG has been running for 16 years and has a close relationship with the Practice Partners and Management, which we highly value.”

Initial Statement from Chairman

Our Doctors at Woodlands face significant population growth in the forthcoming years. Pressure on all NHS resources, and time, is ever present. All the teams at Woodlands need our support and for all that is required to meet the local growth and all our patient’s wellbeing.

Main Activities

  • Our PG committee meets every two months to oversee our work and to plan-ahead.
  • Each year prior to May 31st, we hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to which all patients are invited.
  • There are four PG Group meetings each year, with keynote speakers and for patients to be updated on Practice news and to ask questions of its management.
  • The current database has over 1600 patients who have authorised us to hold just their names and email address, so that we can send them information about the Practice and other key non-clinical NHS and Social Care news. The database is managed by our Secretary; Dermot Paddon and meets the requirements of the GDPR regulations. More are welcome to register.

Information on these events will be sent emailed to all PG members and displayed on the Groups notice board in the surgery’s waiting area, as they become due.

All PG events are held at Woodlands Medical Centre unless otherwise advised.

  • Patient Group Meeting, July 22nd, 2019. 6.30 pm: NB, Venue to be confirmed - Dr Alex Hart updating us on the Didcot GP Network and its progress, and Dr Rachel Ward will outline the development of “Social Prescribing within the Didcot GP Network.
  • Patient Group Committee meeting, August 14th, 2019 at 10.00 am.
